GameCube bites back and doubles sales

Posted on Thursday, 20 March 2003 by DoubleD, source: Fragland
Yahoo reports that salesfigures of Nintendo's GameCube have risen sharply in february... by no less then 110% ! The sudden rise is attributed to the current promotion where customers get a free title with the purchase of a GameCube.
Video game company Nintendo on Wednesday said sales of its third-place GameCube console more than doubled in February on the strength of promotions giving away a free game.
Nintendo has also reported that they have over 600 000 pre-orders of "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker".

Who said the GameCube was dead ?

About everybody said that :)

The fact remains that even with "doubling" their sales figures, they stay behind both Sony's PS2 and MS's XBox and third place in this type of market is deadly (as Sega experienced with the Dreamcast)

Still the best games come out for GameCube, so I don't really see a reason why I should ever buy a PS2 or a X-Box, as most of their top titles are also released for PC.
