Gearbox said "no thank you" to Blade Runner
Borderlands instead of Blade Runner? Hmmm...
The reason for pulling out of the project is that Gearbox Software wanted to do it right and therefore needed $25 million which they realized they would never earn back.
Here's what Randy Pitchford had to say about the matter:
"We chased it down and we coulda had it. But that one failed on the business side, because the way we wanted to do it we wanted to spend 25 million dollars. And when you do the math on that, we weren't going to make it back."
