Len Wiseman, director of blockbusters like Live Free or Die Hard and Underworld: Evolution, is set to aim high with his upcoming big screen adaptation of the Gears of War series.

On the premiere of the latest Underworld film, he was asked about the Gears movie and he gave away some interesting info. And by interesting I mean reassuring that the movie probably won't totally suck.

For instance, the film is being co-written by Chris Morgan, the man behind Wanted and I think we can all agree on this not being the worst movie of 2008. Also, Len is not much of a gamer which in my eyes is a good thing since most dedicated gamers tend to make bloated, empty movies. Yes, I'm talking to you Mr. Boll.

The most interesting info he gave away consists out of two parts. One, he will focus more on the sci-fi than on the horror part of the game. And two, he is aiming for a trilogy that he describes as a 'hardened Lord of The Rings'.

Man, I wonder who's going to play the 'Coletrain'.
