German govt. doesn't like C&C: Generals
The facts are little over a month old, but still very newsworthy ! Apparently, the German Ministery of Family, Elderly, Women & Youth (I'm not kidding!) have taken action against one of EA's biggest titles - Command & Conquer: Generals.
The ministery doesn't approve of the 'weapons of mass destruction' used in the game, because the weapons can be used against defenceless 'ordinary' people. Even stronger: they "loathe" these kind of games.

Now, everybody has his own personal opinion on German gamers, and everybody is allowed his own opinion on the position of the German govt. on the Iraqui war... and I for one applaud the anti-war stance of the Germans... but to single out one single (strategy) game... I dunno, haven't they got some real work ?

Solche kriegsverherrlichenden Computerspiele wie C&C Generals, die den Einsatz von Massenvernichtungswaffen gegen wehrlose Menschen zum Ziel erhoben haben, sind grundsätzlich verabscheuenswert.
So, as a result, C&C Generals is placed on an 'Indexlist' - a list of restricted games that cannot be sold to minors and for which no advertisements are allowed.Click here for the official page.
