Get high with GTA IV

Posted on Saturday, 11 April 2009 by Speed, source: Gamesindustry.biz
It's weird what can happen when you buy a second hand game these days.

Apparently, a guy called Richard Thornhill bought a second hand copy of Grand Theft Auto IV in the UK, to come home and discover a bunch of XTC pills inside the box.

Instead of getting high immediately, the man went to the police and turned them over:

"When I opened the box up, the cling film wrap fell out. I could not believe it," he told the Telegraph. "I have two children and my son plays Xbox all the time. He could easily have opened the box and found them.

"I dread to think what the consequences would have been if he had. He is only 12. He could have died."
The store where he bought the copy, Gamestation, was baffled by the discovery and cannot understand how it would be possible that some pills would still be in the box:

Gamestation commented: "We have rigorous procedures for accepting pre-owned titles and checking them before they are put back on sale
I'm really sure that every pre-owned title gets examined closely before being accepted by Gamestation...

Thanks Ninjafish for reporting.

Games in the UK both new and used are kept in a drawer or something near the counter. Customers bring the game cover from the shelf they want and the game is then placed in it's cover by the employee, those pills were most definetely placed there by an employee of Gamestation.

I agree, why was he playing it??? and I read another article about this story, not only did they "not check the case" but they also asked for the tablets to be returned, how many times has ecstacy been delt at this establishment before is the real question, but it was obviously an employee

I fair a load of E's should be given away with every copy of GTA4 to make up for amount of game and content removed from the game that featured in Vice City and San Andreas, GTA4........GTA3.5 more like.

Maybe EA should try the something similar with their Need for Speed games, they could put 2 pins in with the game so when you boot it up you simply stab each pin into either one of your eyes so you cant see the immense crapness of it all.
