Glupod, Neopets with a purpose

Pretty soon there will be a new, and maybe even better alternative for it, named Glupod. The intention is to buy little birdlike creatures, which can battle in an arena for Glucs, the official money.
You’ll think What's the difference?. Well, you can exchange these Glucs for real money, which you have to donate (obligatorily) to charity or a child that lives in a third world country. Gaming with a purpose.
"A Glupod gamer has a real purpose and a human mission," says Ioannis, managing director and co-founder of Something Inc. "Glupod is more than a game. It's a simple, fun way to do good that anyone with a computer and access to the Internet can participate in."
