"Google to buy Valve"

The Inquirer had 'well placed sources' confirm that Google will take over Valve in the very near future.
Although Google does not seem interested in becoming a game developer, they are very much interested in on-line content delivery and Valve happens to have the most popular software distribution tool in the (gaming) world: Steam.
Even though The Inquirer has a habit of generating a blistering fire where there is absolutely no smoke, one can't help but wonder how this would affect the PC gaming world and that other company that usually competes on anything with Google, Microsoft.

Bet you Steve Ballmer will be wrecking his office again if this comes true :) It's war between Google and M$ and this move would most likely really benefit Google, provided they can handle running Valve properly but I guess that's more a question of headhunting the right people for the job which is one of Google's true forces.
