Valve's Doug Lombardi has responded in regards to the rumours that were launched by The Inquirer which stated that Google was looking to buy Valve to get their foot into the gaming industry.

According to Lombardi, the rumours are a "complete fabrication"

Just to make sure Lombardi wasn’t being cagey, I asked if it’s be correct if we posted that (my words) “Valve says Google isn’t buying the company.” He said that would be correct. So… no sale!
Guess that's clear then :)

Time will tell...maybe Google has made some unofficial inquiries about price and such and that's what's been leaked...

Piss-poor journalism.
I feel bad for the bored writer behind this story, he'd better find a real story.

The original story came from The Inquirer so don't blame "game websites" but rather the tabloids :)

Its just people making industry predictions, and actually it its not completely unbelievable.

What if they didn't report this rumor and then a month later it did actually happen? Would you come here and say "Old news, I read that a month ago"

You cant have it both ways.
