Gran Turismo 5 gets feature list
Posted on Tuesday, 18 August 2009 by Zembla, source: Gran Turismo
Many fans have been waiting for it for a long long time, and many pens have spilt ink over it. Of course I'm talking about Gran Turismo 5. The fifth installment in Polyphony Digital's near legendary series of racing games.
Up until now these fans have had to do with the little information they got here and there. Many of it was hearsay, and a lot of it came from the comprehensive dissection of last E3's GT5 teaser trailer. Expectations were high then for the current Gamescom hosted in Cologne in Germany. People expected Sony to at least say something about the game. But when the press conference which was originally told to last three hours, already ended after one hour, no real new information about the game had been revealed. Disappointment then was big among those who eagerly followed Sony's press conference online.
All that changed though, when Polyphony Digital released a feature list of what to expect in the game online after the press conference. This list, being published on Polyphony's official Gran Turismo site was of course in Japanese, a language only few of us over here master. Luckily it didn't take long for the people behind website GTPlanet.net to come up with an online translation of the list. This machine translation was further improved upon when GTPlanet member, Black Chamber, stepped forward with a direct translation .
A lot of new information to digest then. Maybe the five new screenshots will make the news go down easier. A shame though we still have to wait for an official release date.
