While the internet is burning with discussions on whether or not Gran Turismo 5 is the ultimate racing sim, the online possibilities and the many issues gamers seem to be experiencing, Kazunori Yamauchi has said he's not sure the game's successor will still arrive on the PlayStation 3.

The perfectionist boss of Polyphony said that one of the reasons he's not sure is because he has no idea what the gaming industry will look like in three years time.
According to several sources, development of GT6 has already started, but Yamauchi also confirmed at the GT5 launch event in Madrid that his team will be updating and improving GT5 "each week and each month".

The next update (confirmed for Saturday) will handle the online infrastructure that has been causing problems for both on- and online parts since release. The issues are so severe that Sony is even suggesting to disconnect your PS3 from the internet if you want to have things running smoother.
Finally he promised that the release wasn't the end but rather the start of a new age for Gran Turismo.

Hopefully an age that will avoid bugs in the future.
