Guitar Hero II for Xbox 360

Wannabe guitar players without a PS2 but with an Xbox 360 are without despair from now on as RedOctane announced that their Guitar Hero II will make a next gen debut on the Xbox 360 together with the new X-Plorer controller.

The companies did not release any more details on the X-Plorer (shaped like and presumably named after the Gibson X-Plorer guitar), but the controller was built specifically for the Xbox 360. RedOctane did not state whether the X-Plorer was wireless or not. It is also unclear whether or not this is the Xbox 360's version of the wireless PlayStation 2 Guitar Hero controller that was listed on GameStop earlier this week.

There will also be support for downloadable content, but the way this support'll be given is still a bit clouded. A release date is not yet set too, but you can expect it not earlier than the beginning of 2007.
