HD-DVD is dead! *Updated*
Update: Toshiba has sent out a statement that they haven't decided on anything yet.
Original Story:
Toshiba apparently is ending the HD format war and stopping production of HD-DVD compatible equipment. That's what Japanese broadcasting company NHK reported yesterday and which got picked up by reuters.
On Friday, Wal-Mart announced it would abandon support for HD-DVD and this seems to have been the final blow for Toshiba and HD-DVD.
Toshiba has of yet not made any comments on the story.
"The media reported that Toshiba will discontinue its HD-DVD business. Toshiba has not made any announcement concerning this. Although Toshiba is currently assessing its business strategies, no decision has been made at this moment," read the statement in full.
However, the rumors about Toshiba dropping the HD-DVD format made the company's stock rise with 5% which will most definitely have an affect on the decision that will be made at tomorrow's board meeting.Original Story:

Learn to write proper English before you start ranting. Also, some punctuation would be nice.
Quoted for truth. I was clawing at my eyeballs trying to make sense of that gargle.
