No-one knows, all we know is that a hellofalot of gamers out there are waiting... because it's the only thing we can do. Half-Life 2 will be released at the sole discretion of Valve. Whenever that may be.
But Reuters is now reporting that market analysts are lowering their growth forecasts of the PC games market for this year !
And as we all know, ATI won't be too thrilled with the delay either. After all, they launched their Radeon 9800 series on time. And where it not for the 'source code leak', ATI would probably have thought that the game would be finished a couple of weeks ago. Why else would they have made the 'buy our GFX card, get 1 copy of HL2 free' deal ?

"HL2" is also seen as key to hardware companies like PC graphics chip makers ATI Technologies Inc. and Nvidia Corp., who count on video game players to consistently buy the newest, fastest and most-expensive chips to play intensive games like "HL2."

So, the delay is now starting to effect a large part of the hardware and games market...
