Hackers give Manhunt 2 Hot Coffee?

Remember the whole Hot Coffee scandal from some time ago? Seems it's back!

PSPFanboy is reporting that hackers alledgedly have managed to unlock the censored content from Rockstar's Manhunt 2 on the PSP

Evoking bad memories of the past, a group of Russian hackers have reportedly hacked the PSP's retail version of Manhunt 2 to unlock the game's censored content. However, unlike the highly publicized "Hot Coffee" mod, you don't need a third-party device to access the content, only a homebrew-enabled PSP and the modification a few configuration files.

If this rumour gets confirmed, I wander how long it will take for the mainstream press to turn this into a new scandal. And let's see how long it takes Jack Thompson to jump on this!

When will game companies learn the "hidden content" is NEVER hidden from modders and hackers.

well, Rockstar had to remove some of the violence to get the game on store shelves. You didn't expect them to really remove it, now did you? ;)

I think Rockstar only removes things in such a way as to get them out there then hopes that some hacker is smart enough to get to them. So there true game can be played. Sort of a way to make both the gamers and the censors happy. So they can say. "Hay we removed it. How where we to know some hacker could re-enable it?"
