Hackers make a mess of your PS3

Two groups of hackers, named Team ICE and Sorrow, succeeded in shutting down several PS3s. The smart guys are using a .tiff file to do so, more specifically 'overflow.tiff'.

This hack makes your Playstation 3 freeze because of an overflow. It works with both PAL and NTSC versions until firmware update v2.10.

The TIFF file freezes the PS3 via a heap overflow and is being released so other hacking teams can figure out how to make something more useful from it.

They are so friendly to release their hack so other nerds can do more with it than just crash your PS3. Without doubt Sony is working on a fix already.
