Half-Life 2 nVidia exclusive ?

Posted on Friday, 4 April 2003 by Speed, source: Fragland
Spong is reporting that Valve will be releasing the sequel to their award-winning game Half-Life exclusively for nVidia-based graphics cards
This massive story comes from insiders at nVidia, who are boasting that this will be the first of many such deals for exclusive content, bespoke to its cards.

"You will see a massive change in the structure of the PC games industry in the next few months, with the first batch of announcements hitting at E3,” one insider told us. “Instead of being referred to as PC gaming, you will become an nVidia or ATi gamer, as distinct as Sony and Nintendo.”
I believe such practices would be a major setback for PC Gaming as its strength has always been the modularity of the machines.
If this is true, this might be the first step towards a PC market which will go more towards the console market and I believe this is all but a good evolution.

This is just plain horrible. Not the sort of thing you would expect from the guys of Valve.

Sigh, here goes another illusion...

Prolly some evil marketing dude spreading false rumours.
Its obvious nVidia is losing market share to ATI and seem to be using all means to keep ground. They't better focus on their chips... :|

nVidia is full of it. They just want to get all of the attention. They're saying stuff they shouldn't be.
