Half-Life 2 pushed back to April?
It's been in the air for a few days but now Yahoo brings out the word that the recent code theft over at Valve will push the release of Half-Life 2 back a few months. If we can believe publisher Vivendi, the game won't get released before April 2004.
"A third of the source code was stolen. It's serious because it forces us to delay the launch of the game by at least four months, that is to April 2004. Just the time to rewrite parts of the game," VU Games president of international operations Christophe Ramboz told daily Les Echos in its Tuesday edition.
Pushing back the game will be a huge disappointment for a lot of people but I suppose it's the smart thing to do on the long run (read: cheaters). Let's see if Valve will follow their publisher on this one.In other news:

They'll release both games in 1 extra special Special Edition box ... together as one. And Duke will get a role as Gordon Freemans long lost twin brother who was raised by a pack of wolves...

Don't they have back-ups? ;)
Or is it a problem because people normally aren't allowed to see the source? Seems to me that the source code of every game can be viewed some way or another. Maybe they're rewriting the code now to be more safe and hack-proof.. Me not knows..
Someone?
