Stuart Beattie, screenwriter for Pirates of the Caribbean and G.I. Joe had quite a fruitful perdiod during the well known Hollywood writers strike earlier this year. Beattie, who is a huge Halo fan and was responsible for the official Gears of War movie script last year, wrote the entire script for this Halo movie prequel on his own and sent it to Bungie. The latter party seemed to like it and is currently talking to Microsoft to get this adaptation into the cinema after the last attempt was canned for 'looking too much like the Aliens series'.

Since game movies tend to fail at the box office (thanks for that Uwe...), one might ask how he is going to keep the gamers entertained while the non-fans still know what the hell is going on. Although his answer seems quite standard, I for one really hope he makes it.Don't expect to see a Halo movie too soon because if Microsoft agrees then they still need a studio and funding. Last time they got that and had Peter Jackson on top of it but the project still failed. Fingers crossed!
