Hitman 5 not by Rocksteady after all

Posted on Monday, 17 August 2009 by Zembla, source: PWGM
It has been quiet around the Hitman series for a long time, until someone retrieved the - admittedly, old - news that Rocksteady is working on a sequel to the franchise.

Fans of the bald assassin will know that in the end Hitman has always been a product of publisher Eidos in cooperation with developer IO Interactive. It shouldn't come as a surprise then that someone asked Eidos for some closure on the subject. As such the people behind gaming website PWGM asked Eidos honcho Ian Livingstone about Hitman 5 at the recent Edinburgh Interactive Festival.

Apparently the man looked up a bit confused before replying,
"This is the first I’ve heard about it. Hitman always has been and always will be IO Interactive’s baby, which it still continues to be so. Rocksteady are not involved with the development of Hitman 5."
So it seems Hitman will stay home for a while after all.
