Homefront will also fight preowned market
Homefront, the upcoming shooter by Kaos Studios, will be getting THQ's Online Pass, a system similar to that of EA where you can only use the online code once.
Sell the game later on and the buyer will have to pay ten dollars to be able to play online. Without the code you can only progress five levels in the multiplayer part instead of the 75 that will be present in total.
This way THQ is trying to make sure second hand sales drop for their new game which is supposed to become a rival to the Call of Duty and Medal of Honor series. Earlier the publisher already used the Online Pass for UFC Undisputed, but there the pass only cost 5 dollars.
