Homeworld spinoff?

Posted on Friday, 10 January 2003 by t20, source: Fragland
Former modders group "Auspex Studios" known from the 1998 Starcraft Campain mod The Antioch Chronicles I: Psionic Storm and the 1999 The Antioch Chronicles II: Negative Suns have bond forces to reform themselves as "Subliminal Games".
In October 2002, SG again contacted Relic, now back on track to release Homeworld 2 under the Sierra brand and Impossible Creatures through Microsoft.
Within a month, we had forged a deal to be the first group in their RDN program and it was decided we would use the Impossible Creatures engine to create a Homeworld spin-off in a different genre.
It became clear at that point, that Subliminal Games was going to develop "Homeworld: Eternal Vengeance".

here's what the forums have to say about the yet-to-be-started project:
Most of the game will take place on land (various planets with different terrains ala StarCraft) though we are trying to work in other types of locales into the engine.
The gameplay is fairly unique and requires a great deal of stealth and mucho strategy (like diversions, ambushes and using squaddies effectively). Squad Leaders get a few devastating special-fx laden "spells" while other units have unique characteristics suited for different types of combat. All of them share certain abilities (but some are better than others at it).
Its kinda like Rogue Spear meets Tribes and StarCraft at Fallout:Tactics House Party.
