IGA to do in-game advertising for EA-games
Posted on Wednesday, 4 June 2008 by Herrdidi, source: Gamesindustry.biz
IGA Worldwide, with IGA being In-Game Advertising, has closed a deal with Electronic Arts which will let them create TV-like commercials on PlayStation 3.
Most of all they'll be executing their tasks for different divisions like NFL, NBA, Nascar and NHL, but also Burnout and Need For Speed. IGA will make dynamic in-game advertisements which can be updated while playing.
Instead of placing specific advertisements in one game, the service should allow companies to buy advertising blocks in packs from five to ten games of the same genre.

"We can do a similar thing to what TV advertising does," Bartlett said. "They're able to have upfront deals with their advertisers and show their roster of shows way in advance, which allows advertisers to plan budgets and know what's forthcoming.
"We can now do that for advertisers in-game as well, and that is a big step forward in terms of sophistication and validates the medium as a maturing medium."
