Infinity Ward working on Modern Warfare prequel?

The next Infinity Ward game will apparently center around the character of Ghost and lead up to the events in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
A "reliable source" has come forward and stated that Infinity Ward's next will be using the Modern Warfare 2 engine and focus on the life of Ghost, a character first seen in Modern Warfare 2.
Although rumour, it does seem more plausible than previous ones. Also that the Modern Warfare 2 engine would be reused seems possible, as after all IW has seen plenty of talent leave after the departure of Jason West and Vince Zampella and reusing the original engine is an easy way to quickly continue development with people at hand.
Guess we'll have to wait until Activision decides to announce something, but until then this seems the most plausible rumour we've heard yet.

It has been alleged that Infinity Ward are creating a game that will focus on the character Ghost who first appeared in Modern Warfare 2, this game will centre around the events leading up to the war in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare as a prequel, and then further reveal how Ghost first became a member of Task Force 141 based on the comic book stories written by David Lapham. In various parts of the game that will focus on the life of Ghost - players will revisit locations from both Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2, but this time from a different viewpoint.
Quite something different than the rumours we've heard before. Earlier rumours suggested that the next Call of Duty from IW would be set in space, or at least have some parts that are set in space.Although rumour, it does seem more plausible than previous ones. The only thing I wonder is if the game is coming out this year or in the beginning of 2012. MF2 was the best game so I'm glad they're going back!
