A couple of weeks ago we finally got to hear that DJ Hero is officially confirmed by Activision. Scratching on discs instead of ramming on a cheap plastic guitar or drumset!

Besides producing your own sounds, you'll be able to start with different genres so you can do something from the first moment. Electronic music and dance seemed the most logical, but also hip-hop, R&B, Motown and many more will be included.

Today Activision let us know that the game will include Jay-Z and Eminem tracks in the retail version and also in future DLC. Even more, they'll also help to make a special edition which will include an advanced mixing table in a nice metallic casing which can also be used as a DJ-stand. On top of that you will also receive two exclusive CD's with music of both on it.

I do wonder if a special edition of the mixing table is actually useful, since most of the buyers will have a normal version, so future DLC is also aimed at this group of buyers. Now with any luck the only difference is the look of the device and nothing more.

The game will become available this year on the PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360.
