In a statement on their site, JoWooD yesterday announced that it had reached an agreement with banks and investors for a capital increase, narrowly avoiding bancrupty. This means that JoWooD Productions will still be able to enjoy the fact (and revenues) that their title Gothic 2 is the top-selling game in Germany at this moment.
After successful negotiations with banks and investors, together with a capital increase, the future of JoWooD Productions Software AG is secured. Having put together a compelling restructuring program and an extensive release schedule, EUR 3 million has been successfully placed with selected strategic investors. The funds raised by the capital increase exceeded expected volume required for the restructuring program currently in place (EUR 2,5 million).
More details of the capital increase will be given at a press conference tomorrow in Vienna. We'll keep you updated !In other news:
