Konami requests magazines to keep quiet
It seems that Konami isn't too proud of the fact that they had to incorporate cut-scenes into Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots that last up to 90 minutes as they've told print magazines to not mention it in their reviews.
Secondly, Konami apparently only requested this to print magazines which clearly shows they have no clue about the importance of websites. Like people only buy print magazines and don't read any online reviews. Do they still live in the 1980s or something?
I’ve been told by two gaming media sources who asked to remain anonymous that Konami representatives had been asking print reviewers to keep some technical details out of their reviews, namely the length of the game’s cut-scenes and the size of the game’s installation on the PlayStation 3.
Such details wouldn’t have been plot spoilers, but perhaps the publisher was concerned that they would be viewed as negatives?
First of all I find it strange that a game has cut-scenes that last up to 90 minutes without the player having any gameplay in between. How bad are you at game design if you can't squeeze some gameplay sequences in? After all, it's a game and not a movie! This sounds as an attempt to prolong the time before you finish the game.Such details wouldn’t have been plot spoilers, but perhaps the publisher was concerned that they would be viewed as negatives?

it's probaly just the end cut scene that's 90 min. because that's where a lot of the story arc is truly revealed and it would be stupid to have that part played out
also if this was true why is ign.com and the playstation mags giving it scores like 9.9/10 and perfect 10's, it just doesn't make sense, so the developers must have done something right if they're cut scenes that long in game

So if MGS4 turns out to be mediocre, PS3 is done for. Microsoft already has blue ray drives being installed on the 360. So whats next!?????

If this game doesn't get a perfect score then I'm done with Playstation 3 for good. Its a shame that they delay some many games and features and have these idiots hype the stuff up when it turns out to be nothing we've expected or demanded. PS3 is known for delivering UNDER the bar, not over it. So if MGS4 turns out to be mediocre, PS3 is done for. Microsoft already has blue ray drives being installed on the 360. So whats next!?????
I don't think Xbox will EVER have Blu-Ray, since Blu-Ray is a Sony Brand. I don't think sony would be too happy about giving away their gimic to their competitors.
If anything - they have the obsoleat HD-DVD drive.. but they don't make games for it.
Their sticking with their DVD Format.. which is quite stupid since they used it on their Last-Gen console.
Ah well.. what ever floats micro$ofts boat I guess..
