Warner Brothers Interactive, developer TT Games, Harmonix, MTV Games and the LEGO Group decided to join forces to bring us LEGO Rock Band.

They intend to spice up the experience of Rock Band with the fun of building with LEGO bricks. Add some more of the well known LEGO games humour and you are ready for a blockbuster hit.

Songs are present for both young and old as it suits any LEGO product. Here are a few examples:
  • Blur - “Song 2”
  • Carl Douglas - “Kung Fu Fighting”
  • Europe - “The Final Countdown”
  • Good Charlotte - “Boys and Girls”
  • Pink - “So What”
  • Aside from the song list, the events and locations it's the LEGO 'Build & Play' features that should lure a new audience to the game. With this gimmick you get to desing your band, image and everything surrounding you, even your roadies.

LEGO Rock Band will support most known instruments and is in development for PS3, X360, Wii and DS. Expect to play this somewhere this winter.

Hopefully this will gear the content more towards children. That is one issue I have with Rockband Wii -- my nephews (3 and 5) can't really even play it on the easiest difficulty. Rockband 2 supposedly had a no-fail mode, but even then... Either way, this would be great if they make it more accessible to kids as I believe the concept behind rhythm games should translate over to children.
