LEGO joins the MMO-mania
It seems like the LEGO-building blocks are going to get a second life in the virtual world. Not only were they recently staring in two great Star Wars games, now people are even working on a Batman version in the same genre. Next to that, people are even talking about a massive online world built with these toys of old. The name of the game: LEGO Universe.
The main target group of course remains the young ones. The company wants to give them a decent alternative to the mostly 'dangerous' and uncensored MMO's of today. On the other hand, nothing restrains the adults to get childish.
Lets hope the game will become as versatile as Second Life. Wouldn't it be great to build your very own vehicle out of the plastic blocks and using the manual you got with one of your old LEGO sets to guide you in the process? Bring out the toys cause this sure as hell sounds like it's going to be fun! The release is expected somewhere near the end of 2008.
