It seems one of the oldest adventure titles in the world is getting a new life (again).

Leisure Suit Larry is a long-running series of graphical adventures that used to be property of Sierra and later on Vivendi. However, with the merger between Vivendi and Activision the series' future had become uncertain but not anymore!

Codemasters apparently have picked up the rights to publish Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust, the latest title in the series. No official press release has been sent out yet but the game is already listed on their official website.

Now it looks like the Codemasters rumors are in fact true. While the publisher has yet to send out a press release the game is now listed on the company's official web site as coming out this April for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 with a "M" rating from the ESRB. Develoed by Team 17, the game as you playing the original Larry's nephew Larry Lovage as he helps his uncle in the movie business. According to the header on the Codemasters game page the new Larry title will be handled by Codemasters' casual game label Funsta.
The last couple of Larry games were not really huge successes so let's hope Codemasters can get it going again.

I loved the original Larry games, but the last one with Larry Lovage was absolutely terrible. It was so terrible I cannot even describe its terribleness. Hopefully this will be better.
