Lionhead Studios gets a financial boost

Turbulent yet good times for games-guru Peter Molyneux. After the *very* succesful release of Fable -which is still at the top of the gamescharts- and a couple of public apologies in the media, Lionhead Studios got a rather large financial injection this week.

In todays LH Times , Lionheads online gazette, a proud message states that three leading venture capital firms (Ingenious Media and others) have invested 'multi-million pounds' in the games developer.
Guildford based Lionhead Studios today announced that it has received a multi-million pound investment from a consortium of three leading venture capital firms.
This kind of an investement could -and should- lead to some seriously good games :)
Peter Molyneux said:
"Capital investment is necessary for any development studio wanting to create triple A titles and previously it has been the industry norm for this investment to come from publishers. However we were attracted to a different source of funding as we felt this would give us more flexibility for future product discussions with publishers. "
Good for them ... and thus good for the gamer.

Well you never know when a game, even from Lionhead, could flop in terms of sales and such. More backup is idd always useful.
