LittleBigPlanet goes beta, more details
David Smith of Media Molecule has sent word of their LittleBigPlanet, the PS3 messiah, has gone into beta-testing and they're expecting to involve more people in the near future. A public beta is yet to be confirmed.
The game will allow you to build your own levels and challenges in a very charming and user-friendly environment packed with surprises and heaps of possibilities.
They also motioned something about the game running at 30FPS and 720P (yeah, everything in 1080p... Promises), but you'll see innovative techniques like motion blur and depth of field, just like the movies. The downloadable levels will be kept small and the room on your hard drive taken by the install should be no more than about 1Gb.
Coming in October.
"A beta trial is really important for us to make a game like this. We already have trials in progress! It should gradually grow to include more people," Smith said.
"The beta is starting off in a very controlled way, but will hopefully open up to lots more people. We aren't at a stage yet to know what direction we need to go with this. Personally, I'd love the beta to have as many people as possible, but we need to wait and see."
