Lord of the Rings Online becomes free
Strange news from Warner Bros. and Turbine. The developer of The Lord of the Rings Online announced that they will relaunch their MMO as a free-to-play game.
As with Dungeons & Dragons Online, the game will be mostly free. You will be able to enjoy the game till level 50, the original level cap without expansions. The expansions, extra items, etc... will be accessible through an ingame shop.
There will also be a normal monthly fee which will give the player access to everything.
Codemasters will support the launch in Europe this Fall. You can sign up for a beta test starting 16th June on the official website.
