Lost Planet sequel confirmed?

Well, it isn't entirely news with rumours flying around all over the place for some time already, but Gamesradar have managed to get a quote from Christian Svensson, Capcom's senior director of strategic planning and research who just about confirms a sequel.

Apparently, the Lost Planet devteam is split up into three teams with the first working on new content en downloads while the second is doing the port and the third is doing something new that's also Lost Planet-related

"The Lost Planet team is sort of split into a couple of different parts: One is working on new content and features for download. Another is working on the PC product," he told Team Xbox. "And then there's another part of the team that's working on something that I can't talk about...but it's still Lost Planet-related."

There you got it. Either an expansion or a full sequel if you ask me.

Man.
I want what I want from every game developer who opts for a sequel. I want them to completely outdo themselves.
Lost Planet IS (not was) an AWESOME game, and I feel, if the team over at Capcom really wanted to, they could take it miles ahead.
I really hope it's a sequel though, the second year of the XBOX 360's life is slowly drawing to a close, with most of the games we're anticipating, aiming for a release during the festive season.
So, should it be a sequel, should Lost Planet 2 be on the way, it will most likely land during late 2008 or early 2009, and by that time the standard for 7th generation console games will presumebly be QUITE damn high.
I seriously just hope it's safe for us to raise our expectations.
Now, having said that...
ÖMG!
