LucasArts: more remakes if you want them

Brooks Brown, Community Manager at LucasArts, has stated that if The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition becomes a success, we can expect more point-and-click adventure remakes. Monkey Island is an HD remake of the original PC game will be be released on PC and Xbox Live Arcade this Summer.

If this sells, there’s no one at this company who doesn’t want to do these games.
It’s a matter of showing that there’s interest and this market is alive and get people as excited as possible about Monkey Island Special Edition to show that these things can make it.

After release we'll see whether current gamers are into this type of games still. We at least wouldn't mind HD remakes of Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle or even Full Throttle!
