LucasArts: return of adventures is always possible

Posted on Monday, 2 June 2008 by Speed, source: Eurogamer
LucasArts seems to be aware that the demand for adventure games is slowly increasing again, especially now that the Wii is positioning itself as a semi-retro platform and dusts off golden oldies.

"We have looked at it," admits Norris. "It is something we are continually looking at - new venues to put out our library of games on. We're not announcing anything about that because honestly I don't know anything about it."

"The cart size of the DS makes it impossible to put out ports of any of our old graphic adventures," claims Gullett. "There's literally not enough room on those carts to put the games out."
May a bit over the top as these days there's quite some room on a DS thingie, no?

Chris Norris, PR Manager, also couldn't answer to the question whether or not there will ever be pure adventure games again. He believes the genre has evolved over the years and can be found back in various game types. The decision itself, however, lays with his bosses.
