MAG beta stats compiled, weird

Almost 25% of people downloading the beta didn't play it?
Zipper Interactive has updated the MAG - Massive Action Game blog with a list of statistics compiled after the open beta for the game.

The weird thing: although over one million people downloaded the beta code (860.000 in US), over 240.000 didn't even bother to try and get one experience point:
•Before the end of the beta on January 10, there were well over a million downloads (860,000 in North America alone) of the MAG beta client worldwide.

•Of the 619,000+ people who gained at least one point of experience, 52,846 of them qualified for Squad Leader, 10,249 people qualified for Platoon Leader, 3,181 warriors made it all the way to OIC, and a mere 143 diehard soldiers made it to the level 60 experience cap.
Why would someone download a beta and then not even bother starting it up and playing for at least a few minutes?

My guess is that they counted people who downloaded the installation program (~100 MB or something like that), which then downloads more files (~4 GB). Maybe some gamers didn't bother downloading the actual game, because of the low transfer rate.

yeah that was going to be my argument. Once you downloaded the file +- 250 MB there were al the updated files + the real game which was 3-4GB.

I couldn't be bothered to wait through all the updates, so gave up... my connection speed is currently throttled by my provider at certain times of the day and after six hours of downloading I went away and played Ping Pong with a nun instead.

Also, maybe they included a count on those who recevied corrupt files and downloaded twice?

Many scenarios.
