MGS4 has minimal effect on PS3 sales

While Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a gigantic hit in the gamecharts, it has a minimal effect on the Playstation 3 sales. After the game had launched, sales of the console would only have been up with seven percent.

Despite going straight in at number one in the software charts and being the biggest PlayStation 3-exclusive release so far, Metal Gear Solid 4 has failed to prove a major driver of hardware in the UK, with Chart-Track revealing a "minimal" spike of seven percent over its opening weekend.

It was different for Nintendo when they launched their DS in three new colours, which had a massive effect on the hardware sales. Maybe Sony should just repaint their Playstation 3 to get some fast sales? :)

I find it hard to believe because the 80GB bundle simply cannot be found. Amazon crashed a few days ago when they made that bundle available for preorder. Could that perhaps be the reason? That most gamers are waiting to get their hands on that system? Who knows? I should mention that I did get a PS3 for "Guns."

this article is only talking about the UK.maybe sales havent gone up there cause some idiot gave the game 8 out of 10.the issue he had with the game was that the cut scenes were too long and the story was confusing.it pretty clear the guy has never play a MGS game in his life.
