MS: Don't mail Bill!

Posted on Saturday, 2 February 2008 by Speed, source: Kotaku
Guess the guy wasn't all too happy with everyone mailing him about their Red Ring of Death.

On Wednesday we reported about a guy who got a brand new X360 after mailing Bill Gates about the problems he was having with his console. Tons of news sites reported on this and the result seems to have been a massive increase in angry mails towards the man.

Microsoft now has sent out a note that people shouldn't be contacting Mr. Gates as that is not the "appropriate escalation point for customer service issues"

Bill Gates or Microsoft executives are not an appropriate escalation point for customer service issues. Customers experiencing issues with their Xbox 360 console should contact Xbox Customer Service. Our customer service team is well equipped to ensure that the repair process goes smoothly.

That said, Microsoft stands behind its products and takes responsibility to ensure that every Xbox 360 console owner continues to have a fantastic gaming experience. We are continually improving the design and performance of the Xbox 360 consoles to decrease the likelihood that a customer will experience the three flashing red lights. In the event they do, they are covered for three years under our extended warranty.

Bill Gates can go kcuf himself. He's the one who rushed the product to market, not the consumers. If a car company rushed a car to market and 30% of them had faulty ignition systems, there would be a class action suit and the company would have to pay. Microshit is getting off lucky.

Microshit has always insulated itself from customers while insulting the customers' honesty (i.e. WGA, anyone?). Taking up Bilk Gutless' time by holding him accountable for his faulty product is but a small payback for all the inconvenience he has caused to others.

If he doesn't like it, he can kill himself, with my compliments.
