MS/Vivendi deal not real yet

CNN is reporting that the (possible) deal between Microsoft and Vivendi about the media giant's games division isn't concluded just yet although rumors about a deal were circulating the net

Microsoft Corp. and CNN/Money's sister company, CNN, said they were hit by a hoax Monday after a faked Web page erroneously reported the software titan had agreed to buy the video-game operations of French conglomerate Vivendi Universal

Shares in both companies were up for the day and ahead of the broad market, with Vivendi 2.8 percent higher at $17.38 and Microsoft up 2.3 percent at $48.56 on Nasdaq.

Inspite of what you might think, seeing the shares, this wasen't made by on of the 2 compagnies.
It was done by a student from Purdue University in Indiana.
He made a site that looked like the CNN site including banners and links to pages on the real CNN site..

Why he did it? Maybe he bought some shares.. :D
