Madden NFL in fight against breast cancer

Electronic Arts amazes friend and foe alike by releasing a new version of their football franchise NFL 09. This new version is a so-called "Pink ribbon" edition, the release of which coincides with the USA's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October.

Besides an aesthetical difference the contents of both the box and the game remain the same. What makes this so special however is how an undisclosed ammount of the proceedings of this version will go to the Deanna Favre HOPE Foundation . EA in a press release:

"Deanna Favre, wife of Madden NFL 09 cover athlete Brett Favre, founded the Deanna Favre HOPE Foundation after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 at the age of 35. Since overcoming the disease, Deanna Favre has committed herself and the foundation to helping underserved and underinsured women who bravely face the battle against breast cancer."

An admirable initiative by all means.
