The Remnants, Ascension and Hai-Genti are the names of the 3 playable factions of Maelstrom, each of them differs in theme and strategy:
The Remnants
- Engage the enemy in battle together with the heroic Remnants, led by former American soldier General James Buchanan while being able to change your units immediately to overcome every situation.
- Use stealth to infiltrate enemy lines, and guerrilla tactics to set up deadly traps with napalm, mines, bombs and nuclear weapons.
- Set enemy units against their leaders after hacking Ascension´s ruthless changeable tech, the Mechamorphs, and taking control of it.
- Rule together with the treacherous Ascensions, led by Arlan Khan, thanks to the supreme Mechmorphs with their transform technology.
- Fear nobody thanks to your advanced technology and units with shields, laser weapons, fluid beams of nitrogen and weapon platforms which kill from above.
- Not only the Ascension’s weapons can be transformed, your base and buildings can transform too and can be taken with you.
- Attack the human factions with your airforce.
- Use an alien tactic : shoot cells out of the air to form an army of bloodthirsty animals.
- Lance surprise attacks and rip the humans apart to feed your gluttony cells.
- Sacrifice your own units to create more cruel and deadly mutated monsters.
