Major features cut from Warhammer Online
Posted on Saturday, 12 July 2008 by Speed, source: MMORPG.com
If you were looking forward to Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning you might want to think again as the game is getting some major feature cuts.
Speaking with MMORPG.com, Mythic Entertainment VP and General Manager Mark Jacobs has dropped the bomb that several capital cities as well as a number of classes will not be making it for launch.
- Capital cities for the Dark Elf, High Elf, Orc, and Dwarf factions will not be in the game at launch.
- The Human city of Altdorf and the Chaos Inevitable City will be the only Capital cities in the game
- Four melee classes got the boot: The Choppa (Greenskin), The Hammerer (Dwarf), The Blackguard (Dark Elf), The Knight of the Blazing Sun (Empire)
- These classes were the primary tanking classes for their races, leaving Empire and Dark Elf races without a dedicated tanker
Speaking with MMORPG.com, Mythic Entertainment VP and General Manager Mark Jacobs has dropped the bomb that several capital cities as well as a number of classes will not be making it for launch.
“we decided to focus our energies on two capital cities; one for Order and one for Destruction, and make them fabulous, said Jacobs. “Not good, not great, but fabulous.”
...
“We tried,” Jacobs said, “we tried to see if we could make them better and we just couldn’t make them great. So we had a choice. Do we put in some non-great careers just because they are iconic, or we cut them out and put them in post-launch if we can get them right, or do we not put them in at all?”
So as a summary, the following changes are made:...

From what I've read, the content they've dropped is major. It would be like if blizzard released WoW with only Ironforge and Orgrimmar, while also cutting out Warriors and for most of the races.
