Mass Effect no trilogy?

In an interview with 360Zine, Greg Zeschuk announced that Mass Effect won't be sticking to a trilogy! If everything goes well, we can expect more than three episodes in this great Action-RPG series.
“We’ve said Mass Effect is supposed to be a trilogy,” said Zeshuck. “So you’re going to see at least a third Mass Effect, and even more if everything goes well.”
Furthermore, Zeschuk also had this to say:
"The company will always be building more and more breadth into these properties."
Well... I guess what he's trying to say is that we can expect spin-offs with a bunch of new features, not some small apps or flash games.

No, this is inaccurate and being looked at from the wrong angle.

What Zeshuck meant is that there may be more Mass Effect titles unrelated to the original trilogy later on if the game does well. In other words, the franchise will remain and more games will be released. The original trilogy will remain the same, as the story has already been worked out before the original game was even finished. The story of Shepard that BioWare created will end with Mass Effect 3, but another new story with new characters might come along.
