Max Payne filming begins in March

Good/Bad(scratch what you don't like) news for all Max Payne fans. The filming of the popular videogame will start on March 2 in Toronto. Mark Whalberg will take on the roll of Max Payne and if we see the recent photo on IGN, He already got the right expression of the main character! The final scénes will be filmed on May 9.

US, February 1, 2008 - Max Payne, the long-awaited movie version of the best-selling third-person shooter, is gearing up to start filming soon! Academy Award-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg is set to star as the title character who wages a one-man war on crime when his wife and child are killed by thugs.

The director will be John Moore who already earned his stripes with Behind Enemy Lines, The Omen and Flight of the Phoenix. The script was written by Beau Thorne. Let us hope the movie will have a beautiful noir story as the one in the Max Payne games.

I was really hoping Frank Miller would do a Sin City kind of spin on this amazing story.. Instead we get John Moore.. Yay.... (Awful Game to Movie adaptation coming right up..)

Yeah... I'm don't really consider those movies John has directed to be very good. I had high hopes for this movie too.

I suppose he at least has a good story already worked out. Mabey he'll follow it properly? Not change stuff for the worse? We can hope...
