Max Payne movie confirmed

The successful game serie Max Payne is being turned into a live action movie for 20th Century Fox. The original Max Payne tells a film noir type of story about a policeman whose wife gets killed by thugs, who gets wrongly accused of murder and, chased by mob and police, wages his one-man war against crime. The film will be produced by Scott Faye and Julie Yorn and will focus on the origin of the character Max Payne. Producer Scott Faye said he wanted to do his own "Dirty Harry"-like movie since he first saw Max Payne in '98 at E3.

The original Max Payne, developed by Remedy Entertainment, was released in 2001, first for PC, later on also for Xbox and PS2.
