Metal Gear Solid: Rising only in 2012?

Posted on Monday, 8 November 2010 by Speed, source: Kotaku
It seems that although initially everyone thought Metal Gear Solid: Rising would be arriving next year, we'll have to wait a little longer.

Kotaku is reporting that the game won't be out until 2012 and it seems that the focus of the game has also changed from "Tactical Espionage" to "Light Bolt Action" as we know it from the traditional MGS games.
Kotaku has been told that Metal Gear Solid: Rising will miss 2011, and will instead hit in 2012. The multiplatform game trades the "Tactical Espionage Action" of the traditional Metal Gear Solid series for "Lighting Bolt Action".

"Raiden" means "thunder and lighting" in Japanese.

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is involved in the project, but merely as the game's executive producer and not as the title's writer or designer.
Konami hasn't responded yet to the rumour. As more info becomes available, we'll be sure to let you know.

James Tingle:- I knew it from the back of my mind that it wasn't going to get released in 2011 which doesn't really supprise me. There is no need to be dissapointed about the game being pushed back to 2012 because this is a really really good idea. The first reason is this, with the likes of Mass Effect 2, Dead Space 2, Crysis 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolusion, Rage and hopefully The Last Gaurdian, the list goes on. All of these games are Mega big titles and are scedulled to be realesed, some of them as early as next year which will be more than enough to chow down from your plate. The Metal Gear Solid Franchise is my favourite of all time, the more they delay it the better the game will be given the right minds behind developement especially with executive producer Hideo Kojima. Never have I been so excited and enthusiastic to get Metal Gear Solid 4 on the day of release and there has been no other feeling like it for other game release titles, SOo good I actually gave it a wopping 98% rating. All I can say to you wonderful japanese developers is Don't screw this up
