Microsoft: 10 million Xbox360's in first year

Posted on Wednesday, 22 June 2005 by Speed, source: Gamasutra
Over at Gamasutra is word that Peter Moore spoke out at the ELSPA Games Summit in London yesterday, saying that Microsoft intends to sell 10 million units of their upcoming Xbox 360 console in the first year.

Although Moore did not at first seem willing to suggest quite so specific a figure, he eventually admitted that the company would want to sell around 10 million units as part of its “first mover advantage”.

Seeing that the current XBox has sold about 21 million in 4 years, this is quite an ambitious sales figure which won't be easy to acquire.

Xbox 360 is supposed to be released before the end of the year in the US, Europe and Asia
