Microsoft: 3 million Kinect units sold by Christmas
Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg has said that his company expects to have sold about three million units of Kinect, Microsoft's motion controller, by the end of this year.
This number is based on signals, analysis and retailer figures like pre-orders and conversations with customers.
Greenberg also added that the developers should get all the praise and that it's up to them to bring the hardware to life:
The motion controller will arrive in stores November 10th.

Our key indicators are feedback from retailers — I think you’d be surprised at how sophisticated they are, and they really have the pulse of the market. They’re looking at preorders, they’re talking to customers.
Our estimates that we will sell in excess of 3 million units this holiday.
For MS it's a big launch with a solid marketing budget that goes into the millions of dollars. According to themselves, they're pouring even more money into the marketing of Kinect than in that of the X360.Our estimates that we will sell in excess of 3 million units this holiday.
Greenberg also added that the developers should get all the praise and that it's up to them to bring the hardware to life:
It presents an opportunity for us to not only spark new levels of creativity for Japanese creators with things like Kinect but also give them a vehicle to tell these stories to gamers around the world.
Pushing responsibility towards developers... good move to avoid getting blamed if Kinect fails ;)The motion controller will arrive in stores November 10th.
