Microsoft Xbox360 successor around the block?
1Up is reporting that in the latest issue of EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) a mole at Microsoft has spoken out and stated the company is already working on a game for Microsoft's next console. Seeing as games don't get shifted to the next platform years in advance, this could mean we might be seeing a successor pretty soon
On the other hand, an Xbox with Blu-ray doesn't seem so out of the question either anymore with Warner ditching HD-DVD support...
a secret first party sequel is already being worked on for the next Xbox console. According to the magazine, the game was originally planned for the Xbox 360, but was recently moved over to the next Xbox console.
It's not uncommon for platform holders to begin working on new consoles and launch games years before they actually come out, but this could point to the next Xbox console not being that far off.
Seeing that there's a lot of speculation going around about what Bill Gates will be announcing at CES in his keynote speech, a new Xbox seems not so unlikely anymore. It's not uncommon for platform holders to begin working on new consoles and launch games years before they actually come out, but this could point to the next Xbox console not being that far off.

Wow if Microsoft launches a new Xbox so early they might just drop outer the video game business all current Xbox 360 will be piss off that they need system to play Gear of War 2. Sony has PS3 built to compete with the new xbox already future proff guarante.
I'm not even going to refute your points because the fallacies seem obvious to me, and you wouldn't listen anyway, but here's some advice unrelated to consoles: Proof read what you type, and think twice before you type it.

If MS releases a successor to the X360 (and I mean a real one, not just an X360 packaged with HD-DVD) then we may very well see the downfall of the PS3. The PS3 comes late, it comes expensive, and, if MS releases a next generation console, then I somehow doubt a PS4 will be catching up.
Tbh, I think Microsoft would only offend their fan base by releasing a new console so/too soon. You don't buy an expensive piece of hardware which main purpose is gaming just to see it replaced within no time...
Sony on the other hand would be continiously supporting their PS3 over a longer term, like they did with PS2.
(No I'm not a Sony fanboy, just stating things the way I see them :) )

I actually agree, some gamers might be pissed off. The timing is crucial, but we can be pretty sure that Sony is at least a decade from releasing a PS4, if they ever go for it at all (considering their losses). Microsoft though seems like it might release the successor any time starting two years from now, and that is a big advantage for them.
