Microsoft claims Xbox failures are 'Well behind us'
With all the buzz over the Xbox 360 and its price-cut, we almost forgot that bit of new from about a week ago where it was revealed that over 50% of their consoles eventually die.
Now, in an attempt to counter that news and have the 360 ride a wave of positive news,
Microsoft director Aaron Greenberg had a chat with Gamespot where he stated that those whopping failure rates are a thing of the past.
There's a giant company out there which produces many kinds of hardware and they made a bad batch of dvd+rw drives a while back (+- three million drives) and you still had to prove you didn't kill it and ship it at your own expense. Oh, before you ask, it's not Sony :)

"I can tell you the consoles we're making today have lower-heat chips and better cooling, and we're seeing fantastic quality in those consoles today,"
"That said, I know people have had issues with systems, which were bought earlier in the life cycle, and that's part of the reason why we implemented our unprecedented three-year warranty for anyone who gets the three red-ring flashing light error or the E74 error."
I must admit. While I thinks it's appalling for a company of their size and with their means to throw a product on the market which dies more than half of the time, it's still rare to see a company take a 1 billion hit and replace all of the goods with the ease and service they do. I know that some of you had bad experiences but overall I think it's quite unique.
